The Caltech/JPL institution has set up we have established a special Caltech and JPL Disaster Relief Fund to support our affected staff, faculty, and students. Every gift to this fund will support individuals whose lives have been interrupted by this tragedy, whether they've lost their homes or are experiencing some other dire situation due to this crisis.  The money is organized by the institution and relayed out to the affected employees, especially those who have faced devastating loss.  Methods are already in work to create process for affected employees to start getting financial assistence from JPL as early as Monday.

There are so many JPL employees affected by the Eaton Fire disaster that it is hard for us as a community to comprehend and rally enough to support each other when so many of us were impacted.  In my section alone, 50% had to evacuate their homes.  10% lost their homes entirely, with nary a brick left.  We've come together as a community to create individual GoFundMe pages for those who need is the greatest.  This fundraising enables enough resources so that the individuals can sustain themselves in the near term (1-3 months) while they figure out what to do and how long it will take.
